Kiosk Campaigns

Create and manage kiosk campaigns for donor engagement, event check-in, and public-facing data collection on managed devices.

Kiosk Campaigns let you turn tablets and touchscreens into self-service stations. Whether you need a donation kiosk at a fundraiser, a check-in station at an event, or a survey terminal in a lobby, Muin’s kiosk system handles configuration, deployment, and data collection.

How Kiosk Campaigns Work

A kiosk campaign is a configured experience that runs on a managed device. Each campaign defines what the device displays and what data it collects.

Create Campaign → Configure Content → Assign to Device → Go Live → Collect Data
Step What Happens
Create Define the campaign name, type, and target audience
Configure Set up the screens, fields, and branding
Assign Link the campaign to one or more managed devices
Go Live Activate the campaign; devices begin displaying it
Collect Data flows into Muin in real time as visitors interact

  1. Navigate to Platform > Kiosk Configs
  2. Click New Campaign
  3. Fill in the campaign details:
    • Name: A descriptive name for internal reference
    • Default Mode: The default kiosk mode shown to visitors (donation, check-in, survey, etc.)
    • Active status: Whether the campaign is live immediately or saved as a draft
  4. Click Create

Configuring a Campaign

Content and Layout

After creating a campaign, configure what visitors see:

  1. Open the campaign detail view
  2. Set up the welcome screen with your organization’s branding
  3. Define the data collection fields (name, email, amount, custom fields)
  4. Configure the thank-you screen shown after submission
  5. Set any timeout behavior for idle devices

Branding

Customize the campaign appearance to match your organization:

  • Upload your logo
  • Set primary and accent colors
  • Choose font styles
  • Add a background image for the welcome screen

Field Configuration

Each campaign has configurable fields:

Field Type Examples
Text Name, email, organization
Number Donation amount, quantity
Selection Department, event session, donation level
Date Date of birth, appointment date

Mark fields as required or optional based on what you need to collect.

Managing Campaigns

Listing and Filtering

The campaign list supports filtering by:

  • Mode: Filter by kiosk mode (donation, check-in, survey, etc.)
  • Active status: Filter to active or draft campaigns
  • Date range: Campaigns created or modified within a period

Editing a Campaign

  1. Open the campaign from the list
  2. Update any configuration settings
  3. Changes take effect on assigned devices after syncing

Activating and Deactivating

Toggle a campaign’s active status at any time:

  • Activate: The campaign becomes available on assigned devices
  • Deactivate: The campaign is hidden from devices but data is preserved

Additional Workflows

Event-Based Campaigns

For time-limited events:

  1. Create the campaign with event details
  2. Set start and end dates for automatic activation
  3. Assign to devices that will be at the event
  4. Review collected data in real time during the event
  5. Deactivate after the event ends

Multi-Device Deployment

Deploy the same campaign across multiple devices:

  • Assign one campaign to several kiosks at different locations
  • Each device syncs the campaign configuration independently
  • Data from all devices is aggregated in the campaign’s results view

Data Integration

Collected data flows into Muin’s modules:

  • Donor information feeds into the CRM
  • Check-in data updates event attendance records
  • Survey responses can trigger workflows for follow-up

Tips

  1. Test on a single device first. Verify the experience works before deploying to multiple kiosks.
  2. Keep forms short. Kiosk visitors are standing; ask only for essential information.
  3. Use large touch targets. Buttons and fields should be easy to tap on a touchscreen.
  4. Set idle timeouts. Return to the welcome screen after inactivity to protect visitor privacy.
  5. Monitor in real time during events to catch any issues immediately.
