Contracts
Keep vendor and customer contracts in one repository, check bills against the prices your contracts set, and decide every renewal before it happens.
Contracts keeps every vendor and customer contract in one place. With Muin for Spend, the prices in your contracts also check the bills you pay.
When you’d use this
- You need one list of every contract, with its dates and value.
- You want a bill stopped when it charges more than the contract allows.
- You want a decision on each renewal before the contract renews or ends.
- You bill a customer on a schedule set by a contract.
Find it
- Finance > Money Out has Contract repository and Contract obligations. Every organization with Finance has these two pages.
- Muin for Spend > Contracts has Contracts overview, Terms to confirm, Contract risk and Explorer. These need Muin for Spend.
/contractsopens the Contracts overview.
What comes with Finance, and what Spend adds
| Part | Comes with |
|---|---|
| Contract repository, contract detail and contract obligations | Finance |
| Obligation reminders in the Inbox | Finance |
| Import contracts (reading contract PDFs) | Muin for Spend |
| Terms to confirm | Muin for Spend |

Without Muin for Spend
- The Spend pages stay in the Finance > Money Out menu with a lock mark.
- Under each locked entry, a line reads “Included with Muin for Spend”.
- A locked section on a page reads “Part of Muin for Spend”.
- An owner or admin sees “Add Muin for Spend to hold bills above contract price, check terms and see contract risk.” and a See products button.
- Anyone else sees “Ask an owner or admin of this workspace to add Muin for Spend.”
The contract-to-pay flow
| Step | Where | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Add or import the contract | Contract repository | Contract repository and import |
| 2. Confirm its priced terms | Terms to confirm | Confirm contract terms |
| 3. A bill above the contract price is held | Bill detail, Inbox | Bills held above the contract price |
| 4. Decide the renewal | Inbox | Contract renewals |
Customer contracts can carry a billing schedule and go out for signature. See Customer contracts, billing and signature.
Contracts overview
- Renewing in the next 90 days lists each contract ending soon, with its days left.
- Value by counterparty shows what your contracts commit and what has been used.
- Charged above contract price shows overcharges found and recovered.
- Bills held above contract price lists each held bill, the amount over and the date it was held.
Who can do what
- Seeing contracts needs the Vendor contracts view permission.
- Adding, importing or confirming terms needs the Vendor contracts edit permission.
- Access is set in Settings > Organization > Roles & Permissions.
When it goes wrong
- “Part of Muin for Spend”: your organization does not have Muin for Spend. An owner or admin can add it from See products.
- A Contracts page is missing from the menu: your role has no vendor contracts access. Ask an admin.
