Notification Settings

Configure notification settings in Muin — choose which events trigger alerts, deliver them by in-app, email, or Slack, and set per-user overrides.

Notification settings control when Muin sends alerts, to whom, and how they appear. Settings apply organization-wide and can be overridden per user.

Notification Channels

Muin delivers notifications through three channels:

ChannelWhere it appears
In-appBell icon in the navigation bar
EmailSent to the user’s registered email
SlackPosted to a configured Slack channel (requires Slack integration)

Configuring Organization Defaults

Email Template Customization

Notification emails use your organization’s branding (logo, colors) set in Settings → Branding.

To customize the content of specific notification emails:

  1. Go to Settings → Email Templates
  2. Select the template you want to edit
  3. Modify the subject line and body using the template editor
  4. Use {{variables}} to insert dynamic content (recipient name, record details, links)
  5. Preview and save

See Email Templates for the full template reference.

Digest Mode

Instead of per-event emails, enable Digest mode to receive a summary once a day or once a week:

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications → Digest
  2. Choose Daily (morning) or Weekly (Monday morning)
  3. Select which notification types to include in the digest

Digest mode reduces email volume for less time-sensitive notifications. High-priority alerts (payment failures, security events) are always sent immediately regardless of digest setting.

Per-User Preferences

Individual users can adjust their personal notification preferences from Profile → Notifications:

  • Enable or disable specific notification types
  • Switch between immediate and digest delivery
  • Add a secondary email address for certain notifications

Admins can lock specific notification types to prevent users from disabling them.
