Vendor Passport

For vendors: keep one free account across every customer that uses Muin, choose per customer whether your W-9, insurance certificates and bank details are shared, and stop sharing at any time.

This page is for vendors. If several of your customers use Muin, you can keep one free account and decide what each customer gets from it.

When you’d use this

  • Two customers both ask for your W-9 and certificate of insurance.
  • You want to stop sending documents to a customer you no longer work with.
  • A customer asks you for your bank details through a private link.

Your free account

  1. From a customer’s portal link, choose to save a free account. Muin emails you a verification link.
  2. Open the verification link. It opens your vendor account.
  3. You see each customer whose link you saved.
  4. You see nothing about a customer beyond that link.

The account is free. Your customers pay for Muin, not you.

Choose what each customer gets

Each customer in your account has a Sharing section with two switches:

Switch What it does
Share my W-9 and insurance certificates Sends that customer a copy of the documents you uploaded yourself.
Share my bank details Sends that customer your bank details. They confirm them by phone before paying.
  1. Open your vendor account.
  2. Find the customer.
  3. Turn on the switch you want.

What happens next: the line under the switch shows the date you shared with that customer.

Nothing is shared until you turn a switch on, and each customer is separate.

Stop sharing

  1. Turn the switch off.
  2. Confirm Stop sharing.

Future documents are not sent, and your bank details are not sent again. Copies already sent stay with that customer.

A customer can also email you a private link to give them your bank details.

  1. Open the link from the email.
  2. Enter the account holder name, the 9-digit routing number, the account number and the account type.
  3. Click Send bank details.

The link works once, for 7 days. Your details are held until someone at the customer confirms them with you by phone, and only then can they pay to that account. If the link no longer works, ask the customer for a new one.
