How to Create a Form
Step-by-Step
- Navigate to Forms in the left sidebar
- Click Create Form (or choose a template to start faster)
- Enter a form name and optional description
- Drag fields from the left panel onto the form canvas:
- Short Text — single-line input for names, titles
- Long Text — multi-line textarea for descriptions, comments
- Dropdown / Radio / Checkbox — selection fields with custom options
- Date / Time — date pickers and time selectors
- File Upload — accept documents, images, or attachments
- Email / Phone — validated contact fields
- Configure each field: set labels, placeholder text, help text, and validation rules
- Add conditional logic if needed (e.g., show “Other” text field when “Other” is selected)
- Click Preview to test the form as a respondent
- Click Publish to make the form live
Connecting to Workflows
After publishing, connect your form to a workflow to automate what happens on submission:
- Open the form editor and go to the Workflows tab
- Click Add Workflow
- Choose a trigger (on every submission, or conditionally based on field values)
- Add actions such as sending a confirmation email, creating a task, or notifying a team
Tips
- Start from a template when possible — templates include best-practice field configurations for common scenarios like vendor onboarding, grant applications, and contact forms.
- Test before publishing — use Preview mode to walk through the form as a respondent and catch layout or logic issues early.
- Keep forms focused — use conditional logic to hide irrelevant fields rather than showing everything at once. Shorter forms get higher completion rates.
- Connect to workflows — forms are most powerful when submissions trigger automatic actions like notifications, task creation, or record updates.
