Muin Go — Mobile App Setup

Download and set up the Muin Go mobile app for iOS and Android. Includes TestFlight beta, Play Store beta, NFC tap-to-pay, check capture, and mobile payments.

Muin Go is the companion mobile app for Muin, designed for field payment collection, check capture, donor interactions, and mobile access to your organization’s data. It supports Apple Tap-to-Pay (iOS) and full NFC payment acceptance.

Download the App

iOS (iPhone)

Muin Go for iOS is currently available as a TestFlight beta:

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store on your iPhone
  2. Open the TestFlight invitation link your Muin administrator shared
  3. Tap AcceptInstall
  4. Muin Go appears on your home screen

Minimum requirement: iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Apple Tap-to-Pay requires iPhone XS or later.

Android

Muin Go for Android is available via the Google Play Store beta program:

  1. Open the Play Store beta invitation link your administrator shared
  2. Tap Join the beta
  3. Install Muin Go from the Play Store

Minimum requirement: Android 12 or later. NFC hardware required for contactless payments.

Signing In

  1. Open Muin Go
  2. Tap Sign In
  3. Enter your Muin email and password
  4. Complete any two-factor authentication prompt
  5. Select your organization (if you belong to multiple)

Your permissions in the mobile app match your role in the web app — admins see all features; staff see only their assigned module access.

Accepting Payments (Tap-to-Pay)

iOS — Apple Tap-to-Pay

iPhone XS and later support Apple Tap-to-Pay, which turns your iPhone into a contactless card reader with no hardware needed:

  1. In Muin Go, tap Take Payment
  2. Enter the amount and item description
  3. Tap Charge via Tap-to-Pay
  4. Hold the customer’s contactless card or device near the top of your iPhone
  5. The payment processes and a receipt is sent automatically

Apple Tap-to-Pay is enabled by default for organizations with an active Stripe Connect account. No reader or Bluetooth pairing required.

Android — NFC Payments

Android NFC payments work with Stripe Reader M2 or other compatible Stripe hardware:

  1. Pair your Stripe reader in Settings → Readers within Muin Go
  2. Tap Take Payment and enter the amount
  3. Follow the on-screen prompt to present the card to the reader

Check Capture

Muin Go can photograph paper checks and submit them for mobile remote deposit:

  1. Tap Capture Check in Muin Go
  2. Photograph the front and back of the check using the guided frame
  3. Enter the check amount if it isn’t auto-detected
  4. Tap Submit
  5. The check deposit is initiated and linked to the corresponding invoice in Muin

The captured check appears in Finance → Reconciliation → Inbox for automatic matching.

Giving Kiosk Mode

Muin Go can run as a self-service giving kiosk on an iPad or Android tablet:

  1. Log in to Muin Go on the tablet
  2. Tap Kiosk Mode in Settings
  3. Select the giving campaign to display
  4. The app locks into kiosk mode — donors tap to give, then the screen resets

Kiosk mode hides the rest of the app interface and prevents navigation outside the giving flow.

Offline Mode

Muin Go caches essential data for limited offline use:

  • View recent transactions and donor records
  • Queue payments for processing when connectivity returns (for receipts only — tap-to-pay requires an internet connection)

Data syncs automatically when the device reconnects.

Terminals & Hardware

Manage your connected readers and hardware in the web app under Payments → Terminals. The same terminal list is accessible in Muin Go under Settings → Readers.

Troubleshooting

Tap-to-Pay not working on iOS:

  • Confirm your iPhone is XS or newer and running iOS 17+
  • Tap-to-Pay requires an active Stripe account in live mode
  • Close and reopen Muin Go to refresh the connection

TestFlight build expired:

  • TestFlight builds expire after 90 days — contact your administrator for an updated invitation
  • Your organization’s data is unaffected; reinstall using the new invitation

Android NFC not detected:

  • Confirm NFC is enabled in Android Settings → Connected Devices → NFC
  • Remove protective cases that may block NFC signal
  • Hold the card flat against the top-back of the device where the NFC antenna is located

Can’t log in on mobile:

  • Verify your credentials work on the web app first
  • If you use SSO, tap Sign in with SSO instead of entering a password
  • Contact your Muin administrator if your account is locked
