Always-on donation kiosks on any Android tablet.
Seven operating modes — from QuickPay's one-tap giving to donor walls, event check-in, and digital signage. All on the tablet you already own.
No hardware lock-in. No per-device lease. Bring any Android tablet — Muin does the rest.
Included in every Muin plan. 25% off for verified 501(c)(3)s.
One tablet. Seven modes. One fleet admin.
Kiosk mode is a single capability with many operating shapes. Pick the mode that fits each deployment; switch from the admin in seconds.
QuickPay — one tap. One amount. Zero staff.
The simplest possible donation flow. The tablet wakes, shows one pre-selected amount for a pre-assigned campaign ("Jumu'ah Sadaqah — $20"), and NFC is already active. Donor taps a card, phone, or watch. Done.
QuickPay is a specialization of the payment kiosk mode: collection_mode = 'fixed_amount'. Use it when you want the absolute simplest donor experience — Friday prayers, Sunday service entrance, event booth.
- One pre-set amount — no picker, no typing
- One pre-assigned campaign — no staff configuration needed at the door
- NFC active on wake — tap, wait one second, done
- When you want the picker + multi-amount flow, switch the same device back to broader payment mode
Eight capabilities across every mode
Everything below applies whether you're running QuickPay, a full payment kiosk, event check-in, or digital signage.
Always-on kiosk mode
Android Device Owner lock-task keeps the app on screen 24/7. Auto-restart after reboot. Prevents navigation away, notification tray pulls, and Settings access.
Fleet management from one admin
See every deployed tablet: online status, last transaction, mode assigned, battery level. Re-brand, re-assign mode, or retire a device in one click — updates propagate within seconds over the network.
NFC Tap-to-Pay + wallets
Stripe Terminal Tap-to-Pay on NFC-capable Android. Apple Pay and Google Pay work the same way — donors pay with whatever wallet they carry.
Receipts your way
Auto-deliver receipts via email, SMS, WhatsApp, printed slip (with receipt printer), or donor-scannable QR. Tax-compliant receipt formatting for 501(c)(3)s.
Auto-reconciliation + donor linking
Every tap auto-posts to the right fund in the ledger, auto-matches to a donor record (by phone or email), and auto-issues a tax receipt when the annual threshold is met. No spreadsheet work.
Attract screen options
Between interactions: static branding, live campaign thermometer, donor wall, digital signage slideshow. Configurable per device from the web admin.
Works with your existing CRM
Kiosk transactions are not siloed. Every gift lands in the same donor record, pipeline, and stewardship history as online giving, checks, ACH, and grants.
Offline queue (up to 24 hours) — Coming post-beta
If Wi-Fi drops, transactions queue locally and sync automatically on reconnect. Donors still see a confirmation; receipts flow once the device is back online. (Coming post-beta — beta launches with online-only POS; offline-queue replay is on the post-beta roadmap.)
Bring your own tablet. Here's what it needs.
Most Android tablets sold from 2018 onward meet these requirements. Typical cost: $90–$200 for a new budget tablet; $0 if you already own one.
- Android SDK 26+ (Android 8.0 / Oreo, released 2017) — most tablets from 2018 onward
- NFC capability (for contactless Tap-to-Pay)
- Google Play Services installed
- Stable Wi-Fi or cellular — offline queue (24h hold) is on the post-beta roadmap; beta launches with online-only POS
- Optional: receipt printer via USB or Bluetooth (ESC/POS compatible)
iOS is not supported for kiosk mode — Apple does not provide a Device Owner equivalent for always-on use. For iPhone Tap-to-Pay (staff-carried, one-on-one), see the Muin Go mobile app.
Transparent pricing. No device lease.
You pay Stripe's standard processing and your Muin subscription. That's it.

Use the Android tablet you already own. No hardware markup, no device lease. Typical cost: $0–$200 per tablet.

Stripe Terminal standard rates pass through at cost. No markup from Muin on card processing.

Muin Kiosks vs. vendor-bundled providers
How Muin's BYOD, back-office-native approach compares to a traditional vendor-bundled kiosk.
| Dimension | Muin Kiosks + QuickPay | Vendor-bundled kiosk provider |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | BYOD — any Android tablet SDK 26+ with NFC. Use the one you already own, or buy any consumer tablet at retail. | Vendor-supplied bundle — choose from their hardware catalog; locked to the vendor. |
| Device economics | No per-device hardware fees from Muin. Stripe Terminal processing + your Muin subscription only. | Hardware cost bundled into the subscription; device replacement and refresh handled by vendor on their terms. |
| Operating modes | Seven+ modes per device: payment, QuickPay one-tap, campaign, donor wall, event check-in, self-service form, digital signage. | Typically focused on payments; other modes vary by vendor and tier. |
| Campaign flexibility | Unlimited campaigns + funds per org. Any device can host any campaign, reassignable in seconds from the web admin. | Campaign configuration varies — confirm specifics with the vendor. |
| Donor records | Every tap lands in the same donor CRM as online giving, checks, ACH, and grants. Full stewardship history in one profile. | Kiosk-first vendors tend to be payment-focused — CRM depth and cross-channel reconciliation vary. |
| Multi-rail reconciliation | Card, NFC, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, check, Zelle, cash all land in one Reconciliation Command Center. | Reconciliation depth depends on the bundle's broader platform; kiosk-only vendors punt off-rail matching to you. |
| Tax receipt automation | Auto-issued when the annual IRS §170 quid-pro-quo threshold is met, tax-compliant formatting, delivered by the donor's chosen channel. | Receipt automation depends on the vendor's product; confirm specifics for your use case. |
| Platform scope | Full nonprofit back-office: donor CRM, grants, fund accounting, 990 prep, e-signatures, HR, payroll, compliance. | Kiosk-bundle vendors are usually payments-focused — back-office modules sit in separate tools you integrate yourself. |
Positioning as of April 2026. Vendor-bundled kiosk providers vary; verify current specifications with your chosen vendor before finalizing.
