Inventory management
Track stock per product in Muin POS, set low-stock thresholds, adjust inventory with an audit trail, and import or update products in bulk via CSV.
Tracking stock
Toggle Track inventory on a product to enable stock decrements at checkout. Untracked products are sold without stock changes (good for services or made-to-order items).
Low-stock threshold
Each tracked product has a low-stock threshold. The Inventory dashboard shows products at or below threshold with a warning badge so you can reorder before stockout.
Stock adjustment
Click the stock cell on the Inventory or Products page to open the adjustment dialog:
- Set absolute quantity — after a physical count
- Add quantity — e.g., +50 from a delivery
- Subtract quantity — for damage or shrinkage
Each adjustment is logged with timestamp + reason for audit.
CSV import
Bulk-import or update products via CSV. Required columns:
nameprice
Optional columns:
barcode,sku,category,stock_quantity,track_inventory,low_stock_threshold
If a row fails validation, the import dialog shows the row number and reason. Other rows still import. You can fix the bad rows and re-run the import.
Stock safety
POS prevents tracked products from being oversold — if a cart quantity exceeds current stock, the order is rejected before payment. Negative stock is only possible via manual adjustment.
