Sharing the Bulletin Board
Put the same approved notices on your own website with an embed snippet, so the lobby screen and the site never disagree.
The Share tab of Platform > Bulletin board gives you a snippet to paste onto your own website. It renders the same approved notices your lobby screen shows.
There is nothing to keep in sync. Approve a notice once and it appears in both places; take it down once and it leaves both.
Before you can copy a snippet
Your organization needs a public web address: the slug your public pages already use. Without one the Share tab tells you it cannot build the snippet yet, because the widget has no address to point at.
Installing it
- Open Platform > Bulletin board > Share.
- Copy the snippet.
- Paste it into your website where you want the board to appear.
You are pasting an iframe that loads from Muin. Your website does not need an account, a key, or a login: the widget is public by design, because the notices in it are.
Adding the snippet to your own site is something you do in your own website tool. We can generate and hand over the snippet; we cannot install it for you.
A narrower column
If the board sits in a sidebar rather than a full-width section, the snippet accepts a layout hint so the widget renders a shape that fits the space instead of squeezing a wide board into a narrow column.
What the widget shows, and what it never shows
The widget is built from a deliberately narrow projection of each notice, the title, body, type, category, image, link, sponsor name and whether the notice is official, plus your organization’s name and a link to your calendar.
Everything else stays inside Muin. Internal notes, the reviewer’s identity, rejection reasons, assignment, screening verdicts and any commercial fields are not part of what the widget can return. That is a property of how the data is built, not a list of fields someone remembered to strip.
Only approved notices appear. A notice awaiting review, rejected, withdrawn or past its publish window is not in the widget.
Rate limiting
The public widget endpoint is rate limited per visitor address. Normal traffic on a normal website will not reach it; a script hammering the endpoint will.
Tips
- Paste it once, on a page people already visit. A board on a page nobody opens looks abandoned even when it is current.
- Test the page on a phone. Most visitors will meet the board on a small screen.
- Give the section a heading in your own site’s voice. The widget renders the notices; the framing around it is yours.
Common Issues
| Symptom | Cause |
|---|---|
| “We can’t build your snippet yet” | Your organization has no public web address configured yet |
| The widget is empty | No notice is placed on the website surface: approval alone is not placement |
| A notice is on the screen but not the site | Placements are per surface; add the website one |
| The board looks cramped | Use the narrow-column layout hint, or give the section more width |
