Data Vault
Your organization's verified facts in one place — EIN, addresses, certifications, banking details — extracted from documents and reused in every form.
How many times has someone in your organization retyped your EIN, registered address, or insurance certificate number into a form? The Data Vault ends that: it’s the single, verified store of your organization’s facts — extracted automatically from your documents, confirmed by you, and reused wherever the same information is needed again.
Find it at Settings → Data Vault.
What Lives in the Vault
Entries are key facts about your organization, organized by category — identity details like legal name and EIN, addresses, certifications, financial and banking details, and more. Each entry records:
- The value itself
- Where it came from — the source document, when extracted automatically, or the person who entered it manually
- Confidence — how certain the extraction was
- Verification — whether a person has confirmed it’s correct, and who
How Entries Get There
- Automatic extraction — as Muin processes your documents, it recognizes organization facts and files them with a confidence score and a link to the source document.
- Manual entry — click Add Entry to record a fact directly. Manual entries are useful for details that don’t appear in any uploaded document.
Verifying Entries
Extracted values are suggestions until a person confirms them. The summary cards at the top show how many entries are still Pending Review — open each, check it against the source document, correct if needed, and click verify. Verified entries carry your name as the verifier, which matters when the value feeds compliance forms later.
A good rhythm: whoever owns compliance reviews pending entries weekly. It’s a two-minute job that keeps every downstream form trustworthy.
Sensitive Values Are Encrypted
Values with sensitive keys — tax IDs, bank accounts, government ID numbers — are encrypted at rest. The page masks them by default; they’re decrypted only when needed.
Search and Manage
Use the search box and category filter to find entries fast. Edit values that changed (a new address, a renewed certificate), and delete entries that no longer apply — deletion is soft, preserving the audit trail.
Where the Vault Pays Off
The vault’s purpose is reuse: forms and document templates can pull values straight from it instead of asking you to retype them. See Data Vault Auto-Fill.
