Publish an Event with Tickets
Use Forms and Events to publish an event people RSVP to or buy tickets for: check the event setup drafted, set the date, capacity and ticket price, publish, and put it or your whole calendar on your website.
Events are part of Forms and Events: the paid tier ($19 a month, or the 30-day trial) includes unlimited forms and events. This page covers events. For the paid form, see Set up a paid form.
Step 1: Run setup
On the Forms and Events Product Home, press Run setup. Next to the paid form, Muin drafts a first event that fits your kind of organization, three weeks out at 6 pm:
| Kind of organization | Drafted event | Places | Sign-up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional services | Free workshop | 30 | Free RSVP |
| Salon, spa or fitness studio | Open class | 20 | $15 ticket |
| School or tutoring | Open house | 50 | Free RSVP |
| Nonprofit | Community fundraiser dinner | 100 | $40 ticket |
| Mosque, church or other congregation | Community dinner | 150 | Free RSVP |
| Venue | Open house tour | 40 | Free RSVP |
The event is a draft. If you already have an upcoming event people can sign up for, setup drafts nothing.
Step 2: Check the date, the places and the price
Open Your events from the Product Home, then the drafted event. Change the name, date, time, places and, for a ticketed event, the ticket price. Tickets are paid into your connected Stripe account, so connect payments first.
Step 3: Publish it
Publish the event. The checklist shows An upcoming event is published and Your event has a capacity. Neither one holds back Go live: a form-only business goes live without an event.
Step 4: Put it on your website
Under Install on your website there are two event snippets:
- Your event: one event’s page, with its RSVP or tickets. If you have several upcoming events, pick one.
- Your calendar: every public event, each with its RSVP or tickets.
On WordPress, connect Forms and Events in the Muin plugin and add the Muin Events Calendar block, or the shortcode [muin-events].
What you see
This month on the Product Home counts RSVPs and tickets, and adds ticket money to Payments collected. Open an event for its roster, ticket types and day-of check-in.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy the Nonprofit module for events?
No. Forms and Events includes what events need. A business that signs up for it sees no nonprofit menus.
Can I take free RSVPs and sell tickets on the same event?
Yes. An event can take RSVPs, sell tickets, or both. The drafted event does one of them; change it in the event editor.
Why is Publish disabled on my ticketed event?
A ticketed event needs at least one ticket type. Setup adds one for a ticketed starter; if you made the event yourself, add a ticket type, then publish.
