Events & Public RSVPs

Create events, publish public RSVP pages shared by link or QR code, sell tickets, and manage capacity, waitlists, and confirmation emails in Muin.

Muin events let your community commit to attending — a dinner, a fundraiser, a class — through a public page you share by link or QR code. Attendees RSVP with just a name and email; no account required. Capacity, waitlists, ticket sales, and confirmation emails are handled for you.

Creating and Publishing an Event

  1. Go to Nonprofit → Volunteer Events and create an event.
  2. In the event editor, set the date, time, location, and capacity (Max attendees), and turn on Allow RSVPs if you want a lightweight attendance commitment alongside (or instead of) volunteer signup.
  3. Publish the event. Draft and cancelled events never accept RSVPs — only Published events do.
  4. Share the public event link from the event page. Anyone with the link can RSVP.

The event editor also controls visibility, an optional waiver requirement, coordinator assignment, a meeting link for virtual events, and reminder settings.

What Attendees Experience

The public RSVP form asks for:

Field Required Notes
Name Yes Up to 200 characters
Email Yes Used for the confirmation email and duplicate detection
Phone No Used to match an existing contact if the email is new
Party size No 1–20 guests; defaults to 1
Notes No Dietary needs, accessibility requests, etc.

After submitting, attendees see an immediate confirmation and receive a confirmation email with the event details, a calendar attachment they can add to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, and a self-service link to view or manage their registration.

Each attendee can RSVP once per event. A second RSVP from the same person shows a “we already have your RSVP” message instead of creating a duplicate.

Capacity and Waitlists

Your event’s Max attendees is a shared budget across RSVPs and volunteer signups. When an RSVP (including its party size) would exceed capacity, the attendee is placed on the waitlist instead and told their position in line — “You’re #3 on the waitlist.” When a spot opens, the next person in line is promoted automatically and emailed right away.

Recurring Events

For a recurring event series, attendees can RSVP to all upcoming sessions in one step. Sessions that are full go to the waitlist; sessions they already RSVP’d to are skipped. They see a per-session breakdown of exactly what was booked.

Events can sell tickets. In the event’s Ticket Setup, define one or more ticket types with a price, capacity, and sales window — a ticket can also bundle an optional donation. Online buyers register and pay through the public event page; for walk-ups at the door, staff can take a card payment on a phone using the Muin Go app (see Event Day-of Toolkit).

Where RSVPs Land in Your CRM

Every RSVP creates or updates a contact in your People registry with the attendee role and a label recording which event captured them — so you can follow up, invite them to the next event, or include them in campaigns. RSVPs are attendance intent, not a volunteer commitment; volunteer signups are tracked separately.

Tracking Attendance

The Event Dashboard shows registrations, check-in progress, and (for ticketed events) revenue by ticket type, with a CSV export of the attendee list. On the day of the event, use the Day-of Toolkit to check people in by QR code or NFC badge.
