Contract Obligations and Risk
See what your contracts ask of you, get a reminder before each obligation is due, and find the contracts whose review flagged a risk.
Contract obligations lists what your contracts ask of you. Contract risk lists the contracts whose latest review found a problem.
When you’d use this
- You need to know what is due under your contracts this month.
- You want a reminder before a deliverable or report is due.
- You want the contracts that need a closer look.
Contract obligations
Go to Finance > Money Out > Contract obligations. Every organization with Finance has this page.
- The list shows each obligation, its type, its due date and its status. Overdue ones come first.
- Types are milestone, deliverable, payment, compliance and reporting.
- Use Due within to show 7, 30, 90 or 366 days.
- Use Search obligations to find one.
- Obligations are added on each contract. A contract’s own obligations also show on its detail page.
Reminders
- Muin checks obligations once a day.
- An open obligation due within 7 days, or already overdue, gets one reminder task in the Inbox.
- The task goes to the person the obligation is assigned to. With nobody assigned, it goes to the owners.
- Click Mark done on the task to complete the obligation.
- Moving the due date sends a new reminder for the new date.
Contract risk
Contract risk needs Muin for Spend.
Go to Muin for Spend > Contracts > Contract risk.
- The page lists live contracts whose latest review failed a playbook rule, or rated the risk High or Critical.
- Each row shows the risk, the failed checks, a summary and when it was reviewed.
- Filter by Failed a rule or High or Critical.
- A review runs when the contract document is analyzed.
- On a contract’s detail page, Contract review shows the latest review and each playbook check with Passed or Failed.
When it goes wrong
- “Nothing is due in the next [n] days.”: no open obligation falls in that window. Pick a longer one.
- “No contract is flagged.”: no review found a problem, or no contract has been reviewed yet.
- “Not reviewed yet.” on a contract: its document has not been analyzed.
- “Part of Muin for Spend”: your organization does not have Muin for Spend.
