Origin Declarations

Request proof of origin from your suppliers by email in Muin, track who still owes it, and accept or reject what they send with a reason.

Origin holds proof of where your goods are made, and who still owes it. You request a declaration from a supplier; Muin emails them and reminds them until they answer; you review what they send.

An origin risk score, not evidence. It shows what proof is still missing.

When you’d use this

  • You plan a USMCA preference claim and need the supplier’s origin information.
  • An item could have inputs from a region that needs proof under the forced-labor rules.
  • An auditor asks which suppliers have given origin proof and which have not.

Request a declaration

  1. Go to Sidebar → Trade → Operations → Origin.
  2. Pick the Supplier.
  3. Click Request a declaration.

You see “Request sent. We remind the supplier.” The request shows as Waiting on supplier until they answer, then Ready to review.

Review the evidence

  1. Click Review on a declaration that is ready.
  2. Read Made in and the attached evidence.
  3. Accept it, or reject it and give a reason.
  4. Click Save decision.

The declaration then shows Accepted or Rejected. A USMCA qualification is a suggestion that you and the certifier confirm; Muin never signs a certification of origin.

What it affects

  • Accepted declarations lower an item’s origin risk, because the missing proof is now on file.
  • Origin proof is your evidence. Muin’s risk score is not evidence and not a rebuttal of any presumption; it shows what is missing.

When it goes wrong

What you see What it means How to clear it
“Add a contact on the vendor first.” The supplier has no contact email. Add a contact on the vendor, then request again.
“Request saved, but the email to the supplier did not send. Request it again.” The request is recorded, but the email failed. Click Request a declaration again.
“Give a reason for the rejection.” A rejection needs a reason. Write the reason, then save.
“No declarations yet” No requests have been sent. Pick a supplier and request one.
