Denied Party Screening

Screen suppliers, customers and other parties against sanctions and trade lists in Muin, read the match score, and resolve each potential match as a false match or a confirmed block.

Screening checks every party against sanctions and trade lists, and shows the hits that block you. A person on your team decides every potential match.

A screening result, not a clearance. Review every potential match against the official list before you act.

When you’d use this

  • You are adding a new supplier or customer and want to know if it appears on a restricted-party list.
  • A purchase order is held because its supplier matched a list.
  • An auditor asks who reviewed a match and why.

What it checks

Muin checks parties against the U.S. Consolidated Screening List, which combines lists from Commerce (BIS), State and Treasury (OFAC). Suppliers are screened when they are added. Each list is checked separately; a list that could not be reached shows unverified, never a no-match.

Screen a party

  1. Go to Sidebar → Trade → Operations → Screening.
  2. Enter the Party name, the Country (2 letters) if you know it, and the Party type.
  3. Click Screen a party.

A potential match lists the names it matched. Match score is how close the name is; a person decides.

Resolve a match

  1. In Screening hits, click Resolve on the hit.
  2. Read the potential match against the official list entry.
  3. Under Decision, choose False match (not the same party) or Confirmed, blocked (the same party).
  4. Write the Reason, then click Save decision.

A false match releases any purchase order held for that party, so it can be sent. A confirmed match keeps the held purchase order blocked.

What it affects

  • A purchase order to a party with an open or confirmed hit is held and cannot be sent.
  • Every decision is kept with who made it, when, and the reason.
  • A no-match is not a clearance. It means no list entry matched the name you gave at that time.

When it goes wrong
