Chief of Staff Seats

Buy Executive, Director and Manager seats, give each one to a person, and set a monthly AI credit cap per seat.

The Chief of Staff Solution is sold per seat. Each seat belongs to one person and gives them a morning briefing about the people who report to them.

When you’d use this

  • A director wants one summary of their teams instead of asking each manager.
  • You are adding managers and need to give each of them a seat.
  • One person’s assistant is using more AI credits than you planned for.

Finding it

Settings → Platform → Assistants. It is also linked from Settings → Billing (Chief of Staff seats) and from the Seats link at the top of the Chief of Staff page. Owners and admins see it.

The three tiers

Tier Price per seat Who the briefing covers
Executive $100 a month Everyone below the person in the reporting line
Director $75 a month Two levels down: the person’s team and their teams
Manager $50 a month The people who report directly to the person

An annual seat costs ten months of the monthly price. Only one discount applies to a seat line: if two could apply, the larger one is used.

Buying seats

Each tier card shows its price, how many seats you have, and how many are assigned. Enter the number of seats you want and click Buy seats (or Change seats). The confirmation names the total before anything is charged. You cannot set a tier below the number of seats already assigned; free a seat first.

Giving someone a seat

Click Give someone a seat, pick the person and the tier, and optionally set a monthly AI credit cap. A tier with no free seat cannot be picked. A person holds one seat; giving them a seat in a different tier moves them.

What the briefing contains

Four sections, always in this order: Team status, Approvals waiting, Risks and Value delivered. Each section reads only what the person could already open themselves. A section they have no access to says so, rather than showing as empty. The person sees their briefing on the Chief of Staff page.

How the person is told

Each weekday morning the seat runs and tells its person, by their own notification settings (in the app, by mobile push and by email):

  • Briefing ready, once a day, naming the person, with the headline, how many approvals are waiting and who asked for the oldest one.
  • Risk raised, once for each open risk in their area, naming who raised it.

Approvals themselves are announced when they are created, so the briefing counts them instead of sending a second alert. A person changes how they hear about these in Settings > Notifications.

The monthly credit cap

Over its cap, a seat still gets its briefing, written from records only: no AI summary and no actions until the cap resets on the 1st or an admin raises it. The briefing says why. Leave the cap empty for no cap.

Freeing a seat

Click Free seat on the person’s row and confirm. They stop getting a briefing from the next run, briefings already sent stay, and the seat goes back to its tier for someone else. You keep paying for the seat until you lower the seat count.

When it goes wrong

  • “Reporting lines to fix” appears. Briefings follow who reports to whom. Each listed person links to the record to fix: an employee with no manager, a manager who has left, a reporting cycle, or a member with no employee record.
  • Every seat in this tier is in use. Buy another seat in that tier or free one.
  • A run started by hand fails. A seat briefs its person on its morning schedule only; it cannot be run from the agent’s page.
  • A seat’s briefing says it is read-only. The seat reached its monthly credit cap. Raise the cap with Set cap, or wait for the 1st.
