Signing In to Muin

How to sign in to Muin with your email and password or Google account, what to expect when two-factor authentication is on, and how to fix login problems.

You sign in to Muin at your organization’s workspace URL using either your email and password or your Google account. This page walks through both paths and what to expect when two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled.

Ways to Sign In

Email and Password

Enter the email address you were invited with (or registered with) and your password. If you’ve forgotten your password, use Forgot password? on the login page — see Passwords & Account Recovery.

Google

Click Google on the login page to sign in with your Google account. The email on your Google account must match the email on your Muin account — if it does, you’re signed straight in with no separate password to remember.

When Two-Factor Authentication Is On

If you (or your organization) enabled two-factor authentication, you’ll see a verification step after entering your password:

  1. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or the code sent to you by SMS or email, depending on the method you enrolled with.
  2. The code entry window lasts 5 minutes — if it expires, go back and sign in again.
  3. Lost access to your method? Switch to Use backup code and enter one of your 8-character backup codes.

Check Trust this device during verification to skip the code on this browser for future sign-ins. You can revoke trusted devices any time from Settings → Security. Full details: Two-Factor Authentication.

Some organizations require 2FA for all members. If yours does and you haven’t enrolled yet, you’ll be taken to a one-time enrollment screen after signing in — pick authenticator app, SMS, or email and follow the steps.

Common Sign-In Problems

ProblemWhat to do
”Invalid email or password”Check for typos; emails are case-insensitive but passwords are not. Use Forgot password? if unsure.
Verification code rejectedCodes expire quickly — request or generate a fresh one. Check your device clock is set to automatic (authenticator codes drift with a wrong clock).
Code window expiredReturn to the login page and sign in again to get a fresh 5-minute window.
Too many attemptsAfter repeated failures the account is temporarily protected. Wait a few minutes, then try again.
Google sign-in says no account foundYour Muin account may use a different email than your Google account. Sign in with email/password, or ask your administrator which email you were invited with.

After You Sign In

First-time members land in a short onboarding flow; everyone else lands on the dashboard (or the page they were originally heading to). If you manage your organization’s workspace, the Getting Started card on the home page tracks your setup progress.
