Events Day-of Toolkit

Run event day with Muin: live check-in dashboard, QR and NFC badge check-in on mobile, badge writing, and walk-up ticket payments.

When event day arrives, Muin gives you a live operations view on the web and fast check-in tools on your phone. This guide covers the web Day-of Dashboard, mobile QR and NFC check-in, NFC badge writing, and taking walk-up ticket payments at the door.

The Day-of Dashboard (Web)

Open your event and choose the Day-of Dashboard. It refreshes attendance automatically every few seconds and shows the live roster with per-person actions:

  • Check In — mark an attendee as arrived
  • Check Out — record departure (useful for volunteer hour tracking)
  • No-Show — flag registrants who didn’t arrive

The Event Dashboard adds revenue metrics by ticket type and a CSV export of the full attendee list, including payment status.

Mobile Check-in (Muin Go)

In the Muin Go app, open Events, pick your event, and tap Check In. You’ll need the process events permission. Two scan modes are available, switchable at the top of the screen:

  • QR scan — point the camera at the attendee’s QR code from their confirmation.
  • NFC badge — hold the attendee’s badge to the back of the phone; scanning runs continuously so you can tap badges one after another.

Each scan shows an immediate result: checked in (green), already checked in (amber), or not found (red). A live counter tracks progress — “42 / 120 checked in.”

Works offline. If the venue has no signal, check-ins queue on the device and sync automatically when you’re back online.

If a badge or QR won’t read, the error tells you what to do next — for example, “No registration found for this badge. Add as walk-in?” or “This badge has been revoked. Issue a new one to the attendee.”

Writing NFC Badges

Before the event, you can issue NFC badges to registered attendees:

  1. From the event’s web admin page, start a badge-issuing session and tap Send to phone.
  2. The link opens the badge-writing screen in Muin Go. The session is single-use and expires after 5 minutes, so do this with your phone in hand.
  3. For each attendee, the app prompts you to hold a blank NFC tag to the phone. It tracks each badge as written, failed, or skipped, with retry available on failures.

Walk-up Ticket Payments

For paid events, staff can sell tickets at the door with tap-to-pay:

  1. In Muin Go, open Pay → Event Ticket. Only events with a ticket price appear.
  2. Pick the event, enter the attendee’s name and email, and tap Pay.
  3. The attendee taps their card or phone to complete payment.

You can also start a payment from the event detail screen — tap Capture Payment to jump straight into the payment flow with the event pre-selected.
