Tariff Refunds

Find possible duty refunds in your customs entries and build a refund package by legal basis for your licensed customs broker, with protest, USMCA and drawback deadlines, a CSV export and a read-only broker link.

Tariff refunds builds a duty refund package your broker files. Muin never files it.

A package for your broker, not a filing. This is not legal advice.

When you’d use this

  • You paid duties that may be refundable and want them organized for your broker.
  • You need the protest, USMCA claim and drawback deadlines for a set of entries in one place.
  • Your broker asks for the entries and evidence behind a refund request.

Find possible refunds

  1. Go to Sidebar → Trade → Refunds → Tariff refunds.
  2. If your entries are not in Muin yet, click Import past entries and upload them, or bring them in on Customs entries.
  3. The summary shows Customs entries, Tariff duty paid and Estimated refund, and the findings behind the estimate.

The estimated refund is an estimate from your own entries. Whether an entry is eligible is for your broker to confirm.

IEEPA duties: IEEPA duties were struck down on 2026-02-20. CBP refunds eligible entries through CAPE, filed by the importer of record or the broker that filed the entry. Eligibility depends on liquidation status and court orders that may change. Your broker confirms it.

Build a package

  1. Click Start a package.
  2. Pick the Legal basis: Post-summary correction, Protest, Drawback, IEEPA refund or Other. Your broker confirms the legal basis.
  3. Open the package to see each entry with its Liquidation date and its Protest by, USMCA claim by and Drawback by dates, computed from the dates in your records.
  4. Attach the evidence, then click Download CSV for your broker.

Share it with your broker

  1. On the package, click Send broker link. Add a Broker email (optional).
  2. The broker gets a read-only link. It expires 14 days after you send it. The broker needs no Muin account, and can download the package as CSV or PDF.
  3. To stop the link early, click Revoke link. You can send a new link later.
  4. When the broker has it, click Mark as handed to broker. The package leaves your draft list. Muin does not file it; your broker does.

What it affects

  • Nothing is sent to CBP. Muin does not file, transmit or sign anything, and does not collect your ACE credentials.
  • A package’s status moves from Draft to Ready to Handed to broker.
