There are no hidden fees or monthly minimums. See our [pricing page](/pricing) for current fee rates.

How does Muin compare to Square for small vendors?
Muin offers zero hardware cost (tap-to-pay on iPhone), AI-powered customer recognition, and dual-mode support for organizations that both sell and accept donations. Unlike Square, which requires a separate card reader and charges monthly for advanced features, Muin includes all POS features at no additional cost with the Finance module. See [Square's pricing](https://squareup.com/us/en/pricing) for comparison.
Can I track inventory with Muin?
Yes. Muin tracks stock levels per product, sends low-stock alerts when inventory drops below your threshold, and shows sales velocity so you know how fast products are selling. You can adjust stock manually or let it decrement automatically with each sale.
How do I handle sales tax at multiple locations?
Create a tax profile for each selling location (e.g., "Portland Saturday Market" at 8.25%, "Seattle Sunday Market" at 10.25%). When you start selling, select the location and tax rates apply automatically. You can also mark products as tax-exempt by category (groceries, clothing, etc.).
Can I use Muin for both a nonprofit and a business?
Yes — this is Muin's unique dual-mode capability. The same device and account can switch between accepting donations and processing sales. Revenue is tracked separately, tax handling differs appropriately, and you get unified reporting across both.
How does the order queue work for food trucks?
When a customer orders, you can collect their name and phone number. The order enters a queue with three stages: Received, Preparing, and Ready. When you mark an order Ready, the customer gets an SMS notification. The queue updates in real-time on your device.
Do I need to buy any hardware?
No. Muin uses your iPhone's built-in NFC chip for tap-to-pay (Apple Tap to Pay). Your phone camera works as a barcode scanner. There's no card reader, receipt printer, or cash drawer required. If you prefer a dedicated setup, you can use kiosk mode on a tablet.
Can I create branded payment pages?
Yes! Muin includes a payment page builder for: **Invoice pages:** - Send professional invoices with embedded "Pay Now" buttons - Customers choose their preferred payment method - Automatic payment matching and reconciliation **Donation pages:** - Branded giving pages with your logo and colors - One-time and recurring donation options - Campaign progress bars and donor walls **Membership pages:** - Recurring billing for memberships, subscriptions, and dues - Tiered pricing with feature comparison - Automatic renewals and payment reminders All pages are mobile-optimized and support multiple payment methods.
