Muin Go for Staff and Volunteers: What Works on a Phone Now
What your staff, teachers and volunteers can do in the Muin Go app today: check-in, expenses, in-kind pickups, payments and cash, offline work, and in-app help.
Most of the work at a mosque, a school or a food pantry does not happen at a desk. It happens at the door, in a classroom, at a pickup, or at a table after a service. Muin Go is the Muin app for those moments. This post covers what your team can do with it today.
One app, the same account
Muin Go is free on the App Store and Google Play. Staff sign in with the same account they use on the web, by email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple. Each person sees only the modules your organization has turned on and their role allows. A teacher sees their classes. A treasurer sees the claims waiting for approval.
Check people in at the door
Pick the event and start scanning. Muin Go checks people in by QR ticket, by tapping an NFC card or badge, or by name when a code will not scan. Someone who did not register can be added and checked in in one step. The same screen records check-out.
For a front desk that serves more than one kind of visit, Run the desk asks which session you are running and handles the rest.
How event check-in works on a phone
File an expense in under a minute
A volunteer who bought supplies photographs the receipt. Muin reads the vendor, amount and date. They pick a category and the class, program or event it was for, and send it.
Your approval rules decide what happens next. Some claims are approved automatically. Others go to an approver, who can approve, reject with a reason, or ask a question, all from their own phone. The volunteer sees every step. When you pay by Zelle, check, cash or Venmo, you record it in the app and the books match.
Submitting and approving expenses
Record donated goods where they arrive
On a pickup run, choose the partner location (or tap the NFC sticker at the store), and add items by photo, barcode or catalog search. One photo of a pile of donations fills the item rows for you to check. At the front desk, a walk-in donor is found or added, their items are recorded, and the receipt goes out by email.
Take payments and count cash
An iPhone XS or later on iOS 16.4 or later, or an Android phone with NFC, takes contactless payments with Tap to Pay. Every payment has a type, such as donation, tuition, ticket or membership, so the right receipt goes out: a tax-deductible receipt for a gift and a payment receipt for tuition. If a card will not tap, the payer can scan a QR code and pay on their own phone.
After a collection, two people count the cash in the app, an approver signs off, and someone marks it deposited.
Honest about no signal
Basements and parking lots do not have signal. Check-ins, class clock-ins, expenses, pickups and cash entries are saved on the phone and sent when it reconnects. Card payments are the exception: the app declines them offline with a clear message instead of saving a charge it cannot complete. If something does not go through, a badge says so, and one tap opens the list with Try again on each item.
Help without leaving the app
Muin Go now has its own Help Center under Settings → Help & Support → Help Center. Search the same guides and common questions as the web, read them inside the app, and ask Muin when nothing matches.
Getting started
Install Muin Go, invite your team on the web, and turn on Tap to Pay for the phones that will take payments. The setup checklist walks through each step.
