Introducing the Muin Referral & Affiliate Program

Earn billing credits or cash commissions by referring new customers to Muin. Two tracks, one goal: reward the people who help us grow.

Introducing the Muin Referral & Affiliate Program

We built Muin because we believe small and mid-size businesses deserve enterprise-grade document intelligence without enterprise-grade complexity. Many of you have told us you feel the same way — and you have been recommending Muin to colleagues, partners, and fellow business owners since day one.

Today, we are making that easier and more rewarding with the Muin Referral & Affiliate Program.

Two Tracks, One Goal

We designed two referral tracks to fit different situations. Whether you are a Muin customer who loves the product or a marketing partner with an audience of SMBs, there is a track for you.

Track A: Customer Referrals

If you are already a Muin customer, this is your track. Share your unique referral link or code, and when someone signs up and makes their first payment, you earn 10% of their monthly subscription as a billing credit — automatically applied to your Stripe bill every month for up to 12 months.

How it works:

  1. Go to Settings > Referrals in your Muin dashboard
  2. Copy your unique referral link or code
  3. Share it with someone who could benefit from Muin
  4. When they become a paying customer, you start earning credits

You can have up to 7 active referrals at a time. When one expires or the referred customer cancels, a new slot opens.

Example: If your referral pays $99/month, you earn $9.90/month in billing credits — up to $118.80 over 12 months.

Track B: Affiliate Program

If you are a consultant, blogger, content creator, or anyone with an audience of SMBs, this track pays you in cash. You do not need to be a Muin customer to participate.

How it works:

  1. Apply at the Affiliate Portal (approval in 1-2 business days)
  2. Get your unique referral link and code
  3. Share with your audience
  4. Earn 10% cash commissions for up to 12 months per referral

There is no cap on concurrent referrals. Commissions are paid monthly via ACH (US), PayPal, or wire transfer (international), with a $50 minimum payout ($100 for wire transfers).

Built-in Fraud Protection

We take program integrity seriously. Muin uses automated fraud detection that monitors for disposable email addresses, shared IP addresses, rapid signups, duplicate device fingerprints, and other suspicious patterns. Referrals with high fraud scores are automatically flagged for review.

This protects honest referrers by ensuring the program remains sustainable and fair for everyone.

The Affiliate Portal

Affiliates get a dedicated portal with everything needed to track performance:

  • Dashboard — Referral link, stats, and earnings summary at a glance
  • Referrals — Track every referred business and their subscription status
  • Earnings — Detailed commission history with hold periods
  • Payouts — View payout history and configure your preferred payment method
  • Tax Forms — Submit W-9 (US) or W-8BEN (international) and access tax documents

Commissions are held for 30 days after earning to account for refunds, then become available for payout on the 15th of each month.

Tax Compliance

We handle tax reporting so you do not have to worry about it:

  • US affiliates: Submit a W-9 form through the portal. If you earn $2,000 or more in a calendar year, we issue a 1099 (per the 2026 OBBBA reporting threshold).
  • International affiliates: Submit a W-8BEN form. A 1042-S may be issued if applicable.

All sensitive tax data (SSN/EIN) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.

A Note on Discount Stacking

Referral credits do not combine with other discounts. Muin uses a max-wins strategy: if you have a beta discount (50%), nonprofit discount (25%), or referral discount (10%), only the highest applicable discount is applied. Add-ons and payment processing fees are billed at standard rates. This keeps pricing simple and transparent.

Getting Started

Existing customers: Head to Settings > Referrals in your dashboard. Your referral code is already waiting for you.

New affiliates: Visit the Affiliate Program page to learn more. The affiliate portal is coming soon.
