The Muin WordPress Plugin: Support, Giving and Rentals on Your Site
One plugin places the Support Agent, the Donate button and the rental request form on any WordPress page. Install it, paste a connect code, add a block.
Many organizations run their website on WordPress. The Muin plugin puts three Muin products on it with blocks:
| Product | What visitors get | Block |
|---|---|---|
| Support Agent | A chat that answers from your own pages, with sources | Muin Support Agent |
| Online Giving | A Donate button that opens your giving page | Muin Donate Button |
| Space Rentals | A request form for your hall or rooms, with availability | Muin Rental Request Form |
You set each product up in Muin, on its own Product Home. The plugin places it on your site. Connect one, two or all three.
Step 1: Install the plugin
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, install the Muin plugin (or upload its zip under Upload Plugin) and press Activate. It needs WordPress 6.5 or later.
Then open Settings → Muin. Each product has its own row.
Step 2: Create a connect code in Muin
In Muin, open Products and the product you want. In Connect your website, press Create a connect code. The code works once and lasts 10 minutes.
New to Muin? Press Connect to Muin in the plugin to sign up first. After you sign up, Muin opens that product’s page.
Step 3: Paste the code
Back in Settings → Muin, paste the code into the product’s Connect code field and press Connect. The row now shows your organization’s name. In Muin, the Product Home lists your site under Connected websites, with the plugin version and when it was last seen.
Step 4: Add the block to a page
Edit a page, add the product’s block and publish. Shortcodes work too: [muin-support], [muin-donate] and [muin-rental-request].
Two product settings in the plugin:
- Support Agent: tick Show the chat bubble on every page to show the chat site-wide.
- Space Rentals: Request form names the form to show. The default is the form Muin’s setup publishes.
Step 5: Check it in Muin
The plugin reports to Muin once a day. Press Check connections now to report straight away. On the Product Home:
- Online Giving’s “Donate button seen on your website” turns to Seen.
- The Support Agent’s “The snippet is live on your website” turns to “Seen on” your site once the chat loads.
Removing it
Press Disconnect on a product in the plugin, or next to your site on the Product Home. The product stops showing on your site. Deleting the plugin disconnects everything and removes its settings. Your Muin account and data stay as they are.
Questions people ask
Does the plugin cost anything? No. You pay for the Muin products you use. The Support Agent has a free plan with 50 conversations a month, Online Giving has no plan fee, and Space Rentals starts at $29 a month.
Does it slow my site down? Each block loads one small script or frame from Muin, only on pages that have the block, unless the site-wide chat bubble is on.
Not on WordPress? Every Product Home has Install on your website, with a snippet and guides for Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy.
