How to Set Up Space Rentals in Muin, Step by Step
Let Muin draft your spaces, prices and rules from your website, put a rental request form on your site, go live, and follow every request from ask to paid.
Space Rentals gives your hall, rooms or venue a request form on your own website. Renters see when a space is free, ask for a date, accept your rules, and follow their request from a status link. You approve, send the agreement, and collect the deposit.
What it costs
| Plan | Spaces | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 2 spaces | 2 | $29 a month |
| Up to 10 spaces | 10 | $79 a month |
Step 1: Open Space Rentals
In Muin, open Products in the menu, then Space Rentals. This is its Product Home: the setup checklist, Run setup, Install on your website and Go live.
Step 2: Press Run setup
Muin fills in what it can, and shows each result:
- Your spaces. It reads the website you gave when you signed up and drafts one space for each room it names, such as a hall, a meeting room or a kitchen, with the capacity when the page states one.
- Your prices. Every space without a price gets an hourly rate and a full-day rate. Change them to your own.
- Your rules. Every space gets renter rules and a cancellation policy, one approval rule sends every request to the owner, and your rental request form is created and published.
Setup only fills what is empty. If you run it again, it leaves your changes alone.
Step 3: Check your spaces and open them
Drafted spaces are not open for booking yet. Open Spaces, check each one’s name, capacity, rules, deposit and prices, and turn on Available for Rental for the ones you rent out.
Step 4: Connect Stripe for deposits
Open Settings → Payments and connect Stripe so renters can pay deposits online. The checklist item “Renters can pay deposits online” turns to Connected.
Step 5: Put the request form on your website
Open Install on your website, copy the snippet, and paste it on the page where renters should ask for a space. It shows your request form with your availability.
On WordPress, the Muin plugin does it without code: create a connect code on the Product Home, paste it into the plugin, and add the Muin Rental Request Form block to a page.
Step 6: Go live
Press Go live. Muin checks that a priced space is open for booking, that the request form is live, and that renters can pay deposits. If anything is missing, nothing changes and each item links to the screen that fixes it. When everything passes, you get a confirmation email.
What your renters see
- Your request form, on your website, with your spaces and availability.
- They pick a space and a date, describe the event, accept your rules and send the request.
- The thank-you screen gives them a status link. No account is needed. It shows each step, what you still need from them, and what they owe.
- Until you answer, they can withdraw the request from that link. Nothing has been charged.
- Once you approve, they get the rental agreement to sign, and their approval email and status page offer the deposit payment link first, then the balance.
What you do with a request
- The request arrives under Facility Rentals → Requests and goes to the person your approval rule names.
- Approve it, or decline it with a reason.
- Send the agreement. The renter pays the deposit from their status page, then the balance; both show on the booking when they land.
- After the event, mark it Complete, or report damage to raise a work order.
Muin checks every request against your other bookings, your own calendar events and your blackout dates, so you see a clash before you say yes.
