Kiosk Donation Mode: In-Person Giving for Events, Lobbies, and Galas
Configure Falaah's kiosk mode for in-person donations -- preset amounts, NFC tap-to-pay via Stripe Terminal, auto-reset between donors, and fleet management.
The most powerful fundraising moments happen in person — during a gala’s live appeal, at a community event, in the lobby after a moving presentation. These are moments of high intent, where the friction between wanting to give and actually giving must be as close to zero as possible.
Falaah’s kiosk donation mode at https://muin.falaah.ai/go/{slug}/kiosk/donate transforms any device into a dedicated giving station. The interface is built for speed: preset amounts, NFC tap-to-pay via Stripe Terminal, and automatic reset between donors.
Kiosk Configuration
Falaah’s kiosk mode is fully configurable through the admin dashboard. Every setting is designed for the realities of in-person giving.
Giving options:
- preset_amounts — the amounts displayed as large tap targets on screen (e.g., $25, $50, $100, $250)
- allow_custom_amount — whether donors can enter a freeform amount via a number pad
- default_fund_id and available_funds — which fund designations are offered at the kiosk
- allow_recurring — enable monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring giving from the kiosk
- giving_tiers — named giving levels (e.g., “Friend: $50”, “Patron: $100”, “Champion: $500”)
Donor experience:
- require_receipt_email — toggle whether donors must enter an email for receipting, or can skip
- allow_anonymous — let donors give without identifying themselves
- donor_fields — which fields to collect (email only, name + email, etc.)
- enable_fee_coverage — offer donors the option to cover processing fees
- enable_tipping — allow donors to add a tip on top of their gift
Post-donation:
- thank_you_message — custom text shown after the gift is complete
- thank_you_duration_seconds — how long the confirmation screen displays before auto-reset (1 to 60 seconds, default 8)
Attract mode:
- attract_mode_type and attract_mode_config — configure the idle screen display (screensaver message, campaign graphic, or call-to-action) shown when no donor is interacting with the kiosk
NFC Tap-to-Pay
Kiosk mode supports NFC tap-to-pay through Stripe Terminal. Donors tap their card, phone, or watch on the device’s NFC reader and the payment processes in seconds. Apple Pay and Google Pay work through NFC as well. This is the fastest possible in-person giving flow — select an amount, tap, done.
Fleet Management
For organizations deploying multiple kiosks across locations or events, Falaah provides a fleet dashboard for device management. Each kiosk is activated with an activation code generated in the admin dashboard, linking the physical device to the kiosk configuration. Administrators can monitor device status, update configurations remotely, and view real-time donation totals per device.
What the Donor Experience Looks Like
The kiosk screen displays a clean, bold interface optimized for touch:
- Amount selection — Large preset amount buttons fill the screen. If custom amounts are enabled, a number pad is available.
- Fund selection — If multiple funds are available, large buttons let the donor choose. If only one fund is active, this step is skipped.
- Payment — The screen prompts for NFC tap or manual card entry via Stripe Terminal.
- Quick donor info — If receipt email is required, a simple email field appears. If anonymous giving is allowed, donors can skip.
- Confirmation — The thank-you message appears for the configured duration, then the kiosk auto-resets for the next donor.
The entire flow takes fifteen to thirty seconds. During a live appeal, a volunteer can hand the device to a donor, watch them tap through, and move to the next person in under a minute.
Embedding the Kiosk URL
Kiosk mode runs at a dedicated public URL:
https://muin.falaah.ai/go/falaah/kiosk/donate
Bookmark this URL on the device, open it in a browser, and toggle full-screen mode. For managed deployments across multiple devices, use activation codes from the fleet dashboard to pair devices with their kiosk configuration.
Why Kiosks Matter
Every second of friction in an in-person giving moment costs donations. Pledge cards require follow-up. Cash requires counting. Kiosk mode with NFC tap-to-pay means the gift is complete before the moment of generosity passes — 100% fulfillment rate, zero follow-up required.
